ACTA, LLC Awarded SHARP II Contract supporting the US Space Force

ACTA, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Advanced Core Concepts, is awarded the Safety Hazard Analysis and Risk Processing (SHARP) II

Torrance, CA – May 29, 2020 – The Department of the Air Force, United States Space Force, 45th Space Wing awarded ACTA LLC a $8.821M indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract to provide technical support for the 45th Space Wing’s (45 SW) SHARP program. Over the life of the contract, the total potential value is $29M. Work will be performed in Torrance, California and at Patrick AFB, Florida. SHARP is the designation for the hardware, software, and procedures used to perform flight analysis and risk analysis by the 45 SW/SEL analysts in support of space launch missions at the Eastern Range (ER), Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. This contract provides for performance-based services with a combination of severable (flight analysis) and non-severable (risk analysis) services. The contract includes development and sustainment of flight and risk analysis software models, performance of analysis tasks, research related to risks involving space launch systems, and administration and cyber security support for the SHARP system at Patrick AFB. The contract is organized as firm fixed price, IDIQ award with a five-year ordering period and a six-month option. It is expected to run through November 30, 2025.

UTC Announces Merger with Advanced Core Concepts

Jerry Haber Recognized as 2019 IAASS Jerome Lederer Space Safety Pioneer

Torrance, CA (June 4, 2019) – ACTA, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Advanced Core Concepts (ACC), is pleased to announce the recognition of Jerry Haber as the 2019 IAASS Jerome Lederer Space Safety Pioneer in honor of his outstanding contributions to the field of space safety. As Vice President of ACTA, Mr. Haber has served as an industry pioneer in risk analysis for space operations, while fostering the development of a space safety culture that has left a lasting mark not only on his company but the international space community as well.

Since 1968, Mr. Haber has been engaged in launch and reentry safety modeling and safety criteria development & analysis—such modeling approaches for launch vehicle hazards have enabled higher-fidelity risk evaluations that offer significant flexibility in launch planning. He began his career at the Systems Technology Center of Lear Siegler developing flight safety models and software for Vandenberg Air Force Base and the Navy at Point Mugu. After joining the J. H. Wiggins Company in 1972, he became a key member of the modeling and analysis team that created the modern approach for flight safety analysis. His projects included the first third party risk analysis for the STS, various missiles, and evaluation of the environmental impacts of range operations. Since joining ACTA in 1989, he has led the development of common risk acceptability and risk analysis standards across the US and promoted their international adoption. As Vice President of ACTA, Mr. Haber’s work remains focused on providing government agencies with the guidance and tools needed to assure public safety within domestic and international launch communities.

At this level, processes are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools, and methods. Certification Demonstrates Corporate Commitment to High-Quality Client Services

(August 28, 2018) – Advanced Core Concepts (ACC), an innovative small business dedicated to providing high-quality services to the Department of Defense and other federal and commercial customers, is proud to announce the achievement of AS9100D certification for its Warner Robins, Georgia office. This is in addition to the ISO 9001:2015 certification ACC has held since 2016. WARNER ROBINS, Ga. & HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Nov. 2, 2017 – Advanced Core Concepts, a small business provider of engineering services and technical support to the Department of Defense (DoD) and other federal and commercial customers, is proud to announce the appointment of Richard Matlock to its Board of Advisors.

Matlock is a veteran of the United States Air Force and decorated government civilian with 40 years of experience across multiple DoD agencies. Most recently, Matlock served as program executive for Advanced Technology at the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), where he led the development of next-generation missile defense technologies and was appointed by the Deputy Secretary of Defense to direct a department-wide special program. Matlock’s other leadership roles at MDA included program director of the Ballistic Missile Defense Kill Vehicles Program, program director of Modeling and Simulation, and program manager of the Kinetic Energy Boost Program.

Previously, Matlock served as technology director at Naval Sea Systems Command, where he led a cooperative technology research program with the Japan Defense Agency. Prior to the Navy, he spent six years at the Strategic Defense Initiative Organization helping to develop ballistic missile defense technologies. Matlock also held leadership positions at the Air Force Research Laboratory, including technology director of the Space-based Interceptor Systems Program Office; chief of integration and analysis at the Air Force Astronautics Laboratory; chief of ballistic missiles and space propulsion analysis at the Air Force Rocket Propulsion Laboratory; and lead propulsion systems analyst at the Small Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Program Office.

Recognized as a leader within the missile defense space, Matlock has received numerous awards, including the Air Force Aerospace Primus Award (1987), Navy Superior Civilian Service Award (2000), Missile Defense Technology Pioneer Award (2006), Presidential Rank Award for Meritorious Executive (2014) and DoD Medal for Distinguished Civilian Service (2017).

ACC Wins position on PASS Contract

Advanced Core Concepts wins position on Program and Services Support (PASS) contract to support the Naval Air Systems Command International Logistics Group (“ILG”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of ACC, wins position on Program and Systems Support (“PASS”) contract as a subcontractor to Alion Science and Technology Corporation.

WARNER ROBINS, GA – April 10, 2017, The Naval Air Systems Command (“AIR 6.8”) Corporate Business Office (“CBO”) awarded a $495.7MM contract to provide a range of administrative, logistics, and management support. The contract is organized as an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity award with a one year base and four one -year options. The contract calls for (i) total life cycle management for project, program and portfolio (“PPP”) management, (ii) cost estimating and financial management services, (iii) life cycle logistics, systems engineering, and business improvement and analytics support, and (iv) modeling and simulation, test and evaluation, and training services in support of CBO missions.

Customer locations include both the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS).
