TAMPA, FL – November 15, 2017 – The Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA) presented ARMA Aviation (ARMA) with the 2017 Materiel Readiness Award for a contribution by a small business organization. This prestigious award recognizes an outstanding contribution to the Materiel Readiness (Logistic Support) of Army Aviation during the award period encompassing Aug. 1, 2016 through Jul. 31, 2017. ARMA Program Director James Myrick received the award on behalf of ARMA on November 15, 2017 at the AAAA 2017 Joseph P. Cribbins Product Symposium award ceremony in Huntsville, Alabama. ARMA is a two-time recipient of this award, having also received recognition for outstanding performance during the period of Nov. 1, 2012 through Oct. 31, 2013.
ARMA provides spare parts, repair of repairable services, and logistics support for the Mi-17 helicopter fleet as part of the Non-Standard Rotary Wing Aircraft Project Management Office, Afghanistan Contractor Logistics Support program. Since 2009, ARMA has procured, inspected, and delivered over 1,000,000 individual Mi-17 helicopter spare parts to Afghanistan, delivering 171,000 parts within the award period. ARMA’s efforts have positively impacted the operational readiness of the Afghanistan Special Mission Wing and Air Force fleets.
