Featured Capability

Hypersonics Research and Development

Accelerating critical technology developments to enable future air and space dominance.

The concept, modeling, and small-scale testing stages of airframe development

Reusable hypersonic systems will be a game-changer for deterrence and defense, offering the combination of time-critical engagement, precision strike capability, rapid reconstitution, and cost-effective operations. However, to achieve these goals, significant advancements are yet needed in thermal management, efficient propulsion, structural durability, guidance and control, and affordable manufacturing.

Towards this end, ARCTOS is working with the Air Force Research Laboratory, Naval Surface Warfare Center’s Crane Division, the Joint Hypersonics Transition Office, and other Government and industry partners to develop and transition promising hypersonic technologies. Our R&D support includes performing advanced concept assessments, managing complex multi-partner programs, leading onsite research and test operations, and developing and demonstrating select technologies in our own facilities.

Key ARCTOS Capabilities:

  • Domain expertise in high-temperature materials and structures
  • Design and analysis of integrated vehicle and propulsion concepts
  • Multiphysics modeling and simulation in dynamic environments
  • Additive manufacturing process and applications development
  • Non-contact inspection and AI-based damage assessment
  • Expertise in model based systems engineering and data analytics
